

Jay Olander | Managing Partner
Jay Olander is the managing partner of Cornerstone Realty Advisors. Prior to forming Cornerstone Realty Advisors,Mr. Olander was the founder, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Landmark Apartment Trust, Inc., an apartment REIT with over 24,000 apartments, until its sale in January 2016 for approximately $1.9 billion. From December 2005 until November 2010, he served as CEO of G&E REIT Advisor. From December 2007 until November 2010, Mr. Olander served as the Executive Vice President, Multifamily Division of Grubb & Ellis Company, where he also served in various capacities within the organization from December 2005 until November 2010, including serving as CEO, President and Chairman of the board of directors of Grubb & Ellis Residential Management, Inc. from August 2007 until November 2010.
From 1996 until April 2005, Mr. Olander served as President and CFO and a member of theBoard of Directors of Cornerstone Realty Income Trust, Inc., or Cornerstone, a publicly traded apartment REIT listed on the NYSE with a market capitalization of $1.5 billion. In 2005, Mr. Olander oversaw the sale of Cornerstone. Mr. Olander has been responsible for the acquisition and financing of approximately 75,000 apartment units during his career. Mr. Olander also serves on theBoards of Directors of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation and Greater Richmond SCAN. Mr. Olander received a B.S. in Business Administration from Radford University and an M.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Development from Virginia Commonwealth University.


Gus Remppies | Partner
Gus Remppies is a partner at Cornerstone Realty Advisors. Prior to joining Cornerstone Realty Advisors, Mr. Remppies was with Landmark Apartment Trust, Inc., where he served as the company’s President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administrative Officer since its inception. Mr. Remppies served as Executive Vice President and CIO of G&E REIT Advisor from December 2005 until November 2010. Mr. Remppies served in various capacities with Grubb & Ellis Company or its affiliates from December 2005 until November 2010, including Executive Vice President of Grubb & Ellis Residential Management, Inc. From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Remppies served as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions of Cornerstone, and from 2003 to April 2005, he served as its Executive Vice President and CIO. As such, he was responsible for all acquisitions, dispositions, financings and development for Cornerstone. During his tenure at Cornerstone, Mr. Remppies oversaw the acquisition and development of approximately 30,000 apartment units. In addition, at Cornerstone he oversaw the placement of over $500.0 million in debt, both secured and unsecured, with a variety of lenders. Mr. Remppies received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.


Will Christian | Partner
Will joined Cornerstone Realty Advisors in 2016. Prior to joining Cornerstone Realty Advisors, Will was Vice President of Investor Relations at Landmark Apartment Trust, Inc. In this capacity, he was responsible for communications with Landmark’s 7,000 shareholders and shareholder representatives, the preparation of quarterly supplemental data, as well as overseeing the company’s corporate due diligence efforts. Additionally, during his time at Landmark, Will was involved in the acquisition of $1.5 billion of real estate, $1 billion of agency, balance sheet and CMBS financing and $30 million worth of renovation projects. Prior to Landmark, Will held management positions at Massey Builders Supply, Inc., a building materials company focused on the residential and commercial construction industries, and BDC Management, Inc. an owner-operator of oil and natural gas wells throughout the Permian Basin.
Will majored in Finance at Virginia Tech where he graduated with highest honors.
